Vestursvaedi is a training area southwest of Keflavik that extends from the ground to 2,500ft. Clearance from Keflavik Tower is required before entering Vestursvaedi.
Aircraft that intend to enter Vestursvaedi should include "VEZTI" in their flight plan. Aircraft inside the area must maintain a listening watch on Keflavik Approach's frequency and must respond if called.

Aircraft that intend to enter Midsvaedi should include "MIKOW" in their flight plan. Aircraft inside the area must maintain a listening watch on Reykjavik Approach's frequency and must respond if called.
Remember that Keflavik Approach extends to cover Reykjavik when Reykjavik Approach is offline.
