Vagar AFIS is not a control position and only provides general aerodrome, traffic, and weather information. Vagar AFIS does, however, control .
Get a pen and piece of paper ready! Vagar does not have an ATIS so weather and other important information is provided over the radio by Vagar AFIS.
On VATSIM, it is only required to readback the QNH and preferred runway. You may deviate from the preferred runway but must tell Vagar AFIS when doing so.

Whilst Vagar AFIS does not control the traffic on its frequency, it does still have tools to manage traffic flow.
If the runway is "occupied", you must wait and not obstruct any aircraft that has been told the runway is free of traffic.

You must receive a "runway is free" or "no reported traffic runway XX" advisory before entering the runway or taking off.
You may not land if told the runway is "occupied".
